Sunglasses advice
« on: August 20, 2012, 11:03:54 AM »

I have never really been much of a sunglasses wearer and have never worn them for sport but with the recent Boucher injury I feel it is something I need to be looking at as a wicketkeeper. It also gives me an excuse to buy more kit which is always a good thing!

Can anyone offer any advice on what I should be looking for in terms of lenses and any brands/models that they can recommend? Also where is the best place to buy from?

Thanks in advance

Buy a pair as cheaply as possible that are UV protected. That way it doesn't matter if they get scratched or if you leave them in an away changing room.

If you can afford some Oakley's then go for these. I have 2 pairs of radar paths. One set with polarized lenses, and the other pair with g26 lenses. They really are worth the money.

G26 is a decent shout for Oakley lens, Iv got a pair of Flak Jackets with gold polarised lens that are good, also got a pair of Adidas with the pinkish lenes that are very good for cricket.

I find the polarized lenses that are in my juliettes too dark when trying to watch the game wearing them though

I'd agree with regards to Oakleys. I have a pair of jawbones with prescription lenses in. Clear for batting and fire iridium for medium to bright conditions. The optic quality of Oakleys are amazing and well worth the money

Oakley radars, the best out there.
Fire iridium lenses are the ones I want to get on mine and have heard good things about them.

I'll have to weigh it up I think as I'd want a couple of sets of lenses by the looks of things and the Oakley route seems to end up very expensive...

Balance optics I found were really cheap and offered a load!

All I would say is that if you are going to splash the cash on Oakleys you should get polarised lenses...

Can't back this up enough.

Worth the extra expense
