I'm looking at repairing my old GM as a bit of a winter project. I've never repaired a bat myself before but as it's now almost dead I thought I've got nothing to lose. I just wondered if anyone had any tips they'd like to share from their experiences of repairing bats? Like what type or particular brand of glue to use if there's one that works really well? Cheers

Post some pics of the bat if you can. would be good to see what it needs doing to it. As for advice. A decent wood glue is always good. Just pick something up at your local DIY place.

Some PVA wood glue and some brown parcel tape to act as a clamp are a must.  Also, fibreglass tape comes in handy, along with sandpaper

On top of the earlier stuff mentioned. A Sander, a variety of different grades of sandpaper and a ball of rubber bands (very good for compressing edges). A clamp to the flatter cracks or face cracks.

Cheers, will try and sort out some photos, the inside edge is really going, it's been repaired/refurbed a couple of times so it's on it's last legs. Got to take the scuff sheet off and give it a sand as well, thanks for the tips
