Today I made myself a net bat
« on: September 29, 2012, 07:10:50 PM »

Well after seeing mad_abt_cricket effort at making a terrific bat today, I feel like this isn't up to the standard being put around on the forum from home makers at the moment. The like of Ryan and the others who've been making them recently have set a terrific standard :)! And I'm afraid you'll be disappointed if you think this is going to be as good as there's! haha.

Anyway, I chopped the shoulders off again as I like the look of it, and set about I wanted to make something with a low longish middle to kind of replicate my hattori in a way, this is what I ended up with and I'm very pleased. The finishing isn't great, every time I got close to being happy with it, I'd snag a piece of wood, in the end I got fed up and left it as it is now.

Weighs around 2'9 and responds nicely, can't wait to give it a thrash :)

Comments greatly appreciated, and this is only my second attempt at a bat so be nice!

I love it when a forum member makes a bat.  I really think this is a brilliant effort!

Nice rounded profile and long middle for a 2.9 bat.

That is really class mate. Huge fan of that for a fledgling effort. I'm with Buzz on this one, great to see some-one having a go at making a bat.

Very nice looking effort mate. How do you find the tt style shiulders affect pickup?

I'm not sure really to be honest mate!
Picks up well in my opinion but I've obviously tried to make it to how I like it

This could be purchased for 50 posted if any body fancies it.

My bike wheels are shagged and want to fund a new set!
