Exactly as the title says, do you put tape on your edges? I always have up until last year. All of a sudden I no longer liked the look. Having just got a new salix I'm after keeping it damage free so contemplating taping the edges.

Thoughts?

I don't think it really matters tbh, a good quality clear wrap around scuff will offer enough protection.

New self heal anti scuffs wrap around so you don't need tape, I used hammer edges until removing one to find a nasty crack I had no idea about as it was hidden under the fibre edge tape.

That's what I thought. Any views on the salix scuff sheet? The morrant scuffs I've always bought are brilliant, no damage and never any sticky residue. The Gray Nics one I had on my scoop was poor. On a side note, I've found that without the edge tape I tend to edge the ball less. Maybe an increase in concentration so that I don't edge it.

The ayrtek self healing ones are really good.

Always hammer edge my bats since an MRF I had developed a hole in the middle of the bat.

Agree though helicopter scuff sheets for me are best

I quite like hammer edge sheet, haven't really used the clear ones.

Julian Millichamp said to me that fibreglass tape is basically useless when put on as a single strip. He said that it is good when wrapped around the bat, but a strip doesn't really do anything.

Dunno if that means anything, but I don't put edge tape on mine (mainly because once it sets it's hard to get off)
