Ayrtek Cricket Helmet Safety Features
« on: November 12, 2012, 01:20:35 PM »

Lots of questions of late about the shell shape and design, hopefully the below illustrates our thinking behind it, also with regards to the strength offered within the peak of the design to minimise flexion upon impact.

Tom Simmy was saying he gets better vision when he uses the ayrtek, does the shape of the peak help this or is it just Simmy????

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

I have to agree with Simmy, I think the vision is miles better in the ayrtek.  I've also had the opportunity to try out the deflection and I have to say it works well!

basically if you think of how wide the peak is on a normal helemet it limits the amount of light getting into your eyes

because the ayrtek has a smaller peak it lets more light in there4 i can see better  :)

and yeah ryan got hit on the lid  trying to pull one bounce 4 wasnt it? lol

Are you guys using the top end Ayrteks or the entry level ones?

All our helmet range use the same shape of peak and shell design to offer optimum vision out of them when being used.

Peripheral vision has been a positive aspect when we get feedback from players using them as it seems they offer a wider field of vision due to the aforementioned mentioned reason.

I know Simmy has a RAW, I got hit in the grille (Ti Grille) on my Premier when I was keeping wicket, stood up to a medium pacer and one lept off the pitch last year and  after the shock of '(No Swearing Please), I've just been smashed in the face' was hang on a minute there's no blood or anything!

Simmy has the raw and I have the elite. Think the only difference is the weight.

Thanks fellas. I like the look of the Ayrteks, but in all honesty I can only justify the expense of the entry level one.
