Fast bowlers transition from off season to season
« on: December 11, 2012, 06:24:49 PM »

How do fast bowlers take care of themselves in winter fitness wise ? Do you do weights , running and sprinting during winter ? How do you transition to season ? Do you reduce doing weights and do more running ? Is it useful for fast bowlers to do weights than do just running , sprinting ?

I don't do any running (which maybe i should) but other sports that work similar muscles but still provide enough variety would be the key....I have tried getting into tennis, play badminton regularly, walk miles a day etc etc...including some indoor cricket that works for me...2-3 months before the start of the season is when i get into bowling lots of over in nets,,averaging anywhere from 10-20 a week in one session and start cutting down on other sports that i play...
