£49.99 for an English made bat
« on: December 14, 2012, 09:44:35 PM »

Took a calculated risk on buying a Mongoose ToRQ Prime from Pro Direct, knew what kind of bats they'd have had and thought at £49.99 it was worth taking a risk as the chances of getting a bargain were very high.

So what arrived? Excuse the poor photography (better will come) - but here is an English made bat, beautifully finished and EW for £50.

Delighted.

Best looking bat of the range I think, I've been very close to buying the Torq series for £76 from PDC

No idea now they have managed to offer this at that price but cannot go wrong if you can pick that quality of bat up for sub £50

Would guess that PDC are selling it for less than trade price, seeing as RRP is £125. Certainly not all of the lower grade Geese are made in England, and I do think I got very very lucky here. Way to tell is the binding and toeguard.

There's a few still on there:

I know this is a stupid question but why does this look different than the ones on the website?

I can't see the splice on this one like you can on the ones on PD site... And the shoulders are a different shape.

Splice is there. Shoulders are probably due to different makers, or one being an early photo sample.
