Newbery Cadbury GT
« on: November 02, 2012, 05:18:33 PM »

I have today got my hands on a 2013 season Newbery GT 5star in the Cadbury stickers. I will post pic's as soon as possible i.e when my wife gets in and can show me how to do it lol.

Profile is a little bigger than last years GT model but with pick up is excellent as well as the finish. Stickers look excellent as well. Althoug this is a 5 star model i recieved 9 straight grains although there are a few butterfly marks towards to bottom of the bat but honestly i have seen far worse labelled as G1 in my time so no issue. Tap up with a old quality net ball is excellent and very responsive when used with mallet also.

Finally great service from Beckenham Cricket Specialists as normal. Will get pics up asap

GT's have always had the flat faces, so I would expect this to. Not as flat as the GN ones, but a lot flatter than the other domed Newbery's as they use a different roller on the GT

Looks very nice.

As nice as some sps bats I've seen.

Would be interested to see if the faces are even flatter on these new GT's, as they have an even flatter roller since the original GT bats were produced. Judging by those edges I would suggest so....,

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

Looks an absolute beauty. Its between a Newbery GT, an SS Ton LE, Slazenger V12 (potentially) or a GN Icon.

Really nice grains, love the labels too. Perhaps they mislabeled an SPS and you got lucky!

Soulman, any updates on your Cadbury GT 5 Star? How does it compare to other bats in your arsenal? Quite keen on one of these...
