SAF gloves
« on: July 16, 2012, 12:01:24 PM »

Has anyone got this years SAF gloves with the towelled thumb?

I'm probably going to buy some new gloves soon - mainly due to work being a bit dull and the constant rain stopping me from playing cricket. I'm quite tempted by the saf gloves as I do sweat a lot.

Just wondering if they're good or not - my other options are Redback modern, ayrtek black elite or the kook r900, how would the saf compare to those?

Thanks

Just been chatting to marcus from SAF on twitter. They only had 40 pairs originally but more stock coming soon (along with bags, etc I think). If I take the plunge I'll add a review.

Could you ask Marcus if they are doing standard men's size? Or will they be getting any small mens and large mens sizes?

Just standard men's at the moment, sounds like they are a generous fit though as Marcus says they fit Alex Tudors big paws. He's checking if he has some pics, if he has I'll ask if I can put them up here.

The Ayrtek Elites, are brilliant.  I haven't taken mine off since I got them, although typing is quite hard!  :D :D

I'd be interested to see pics of these too.

Its a shame some of the smaller brands dont stock OSM pads/gloves. I find getting OSM softs that i like, at a reasonable price near impossible.

I know this is an old topic but thought id continue it rather than start a new one.
Ive used the SAF gloves taking advantage of their offer and they are really nice. Soft, plain classic design and Im sure will offer all the protection I need. On comparing them to the Newbery Grizzlys or the GM 909's they are a class above. The towelling on the thumb may be useful if I ever have an innings long enough to warrent it!
