Albion Elite TI Pro Helmet
« on: March 15, 2013, 10:30:25 AM »

Just before I call the place I bought this helmet from I am after some advice.  I have just received a brand new Albion TI22 Pro helmet. The grill is a titanium one that has  "albion" sticker on it but the actual helmet says " cricket helmet C1 Club MK11 which surprised me.  The helmet came fitted with 4 red pads, 4 x grey 4mm pads   4x black 12mm pads and 3 black half moon pads which I have no idea what they are for. Just a bit confused & not convinced its right.

Anyone using an Elite TI Pro model can confirm if this is correct on not.
thanks

you will know soon enough if you have a club mark II lid as the Ti Grille may not fit.
I would call the person you bought the lid from ASAP. A club mark II costs around £40 with a standard grille. The padding is for inside the lid to make the fit better, I don't think that is your issue.

This year the club mark II has been rebranded - the Elite Club helmet.

the retailer said that if i have a problem then just send it back which obviously is at my expense. I thought the helmet would have half moon pads & a towelling front pad & said elite inside the lid.  Its says Club MK2.
The retailer could not really help in that respect and just said send it back.  I am going to phone a few places up first.

I think they have sent you the wrong lid.
My view is that they should pay the return postage. The Elite Pro is not the same as the Elite Club, they have got it wrong and the difference in price is something like £70 - so I would be seriously peed off if I was you.
Did the lid come in a box? what did the box say was in it?

the box has elite ti22 pro on it. I did get it cheap in a sale but thats besides the point. Its last years model anyway.

I have a well know retailer checking out their stock now to look at the label inside the shell before I do anything more.

Actually in this case the law is entirely on your side.

Your contract doesn't officially start with a retailer until they dispatch your goods. You can cancel your order at anytime before they dispatch it. As they have not yet dispatched the goods on your order, you are well within your rights to cancel your order and request a full refund. It is then up to them to arrange for the incorrect goods to be collected.

I've had numerous experiences from online department stores sending incorrect goods. I've requested either my goods to be dispatched immediately, or a full refund. I also inform the retailer that in either case, if they require the wrong goods that they have sent me, it's down to them to arrange a collection.

Last year i must have sold £100+ worth of incorrectly sent items on ebay as the retailer hasn't even bothered to arrange collection.

So they have to pay for the items to be returned? and if not your free to do what you want with it, which in your case meant you sold them and made a bit of cash back. did they then send the correct item aswell?

Correct. Your contract has not yet commenced with them, as they have not yet dispatched the goods you ordered.

In some cases, retailers have refunded me, in other cases they have dispatched the correct item. In either case they have very rarely bothered to arrange collection for the incorrect items.

I will try that but I just need to be proved right first regarding this Club MK2 issue. I dont believe that an Albion Elite ti 22 pro should be  a club MK2 helmet fitted with a ti grill.

Similar thing happened to me a few weeks back then
Ordered something off ebay from the Bargains post, the Test Oblivion gloves, but when they came they were junior oblivion gloves, and about £40 cheaper than the ones that should have arrived
The seller refunded me for everything including the cost to send back to them, but I never asked for the proper glove to be sent as I didnt think they had them anyway and couldnt be bothered with the hassle.
Took a risk buying them in the first place as I thought something like this would happen

If bought over the phone or online then it falls under the distance selling act.

Even if it is the correct product you have 7 days from receiving the paperwork/receipt (not including the day it arrives) to decide if you wish to keep it.

Well I have had a reply to the email I sent on Friday. " no it is just the pads that are different on the inside if you do not wa nt you will need to return the helmet to us many thanks"  Not the most helpful.  Luckily Morrant were excellent and went & opened a box for me from their warehouse.  There lids dont show " club MK2 " on the inside sticker.  Time to see whether they offer me a partial refund or send me out the proper item

The helmet arrived on Friday. The lid is a club MK2 & the grill says titanium 21 pro on it.

Inside the helmet were all the adjustable pads you would expect to find with a club helmet. Also inside was a set of half moon internal pads & no front toweling soaker pad that is advertised to come with the Elte TI Pro.

If you look at this link from Morrant, http://www.morrant.com/cricket_helmets/albion_elite_ti22_pro_cricket_helmet/116607_p.html you will see that the internal padding for the elite is different to that of the club.

Is the elite a different helmet to the club? Have I been sent the wrong lid but the correct grill???

Elite Club is the new version of the old Club Mark II
