i think its good that the boom bat is being advertised, but i think that they are a bit silly offering a skyer for �149.00 or the boom bat for �40. people are obviously gonna go for the boom bat...

no i think that is the actual boom bat as the guy from surridge emailed me a photo of it a few weeks ago.

I dont understand why fusion have given up the rights to there biggest product! I had heard surrdiges were in financial trouble! Apparetnly fusion had turned down offers to buy the fusion design so why now pass it on to surridge, doesnt make sense.

I would guess that Surridge needed to buy the rights or a license to the Skyer to sell their Boom Bat. With Fusion having the appropriate designs and patents on it, they probably couldn't have sold the Boom Bat. Only way round it was to buy rights to the Skyer.

The good thing is this leaves Fusion to continue focusing on producing quality cricket bats which has built their reputation.

The bats may have been what there reputation is built on but the Skyer would have made Fusion well known, when you have got all the counties and international teams signed up and using it and it now being stocked in the big online cricket shops you are making a name for themselves. There must have been a sizeable sum involved to entice Fusion into a deal, i had heard that they had previously turned down offers from big manufacturers for the Skyer, so why sell now when you are on the cusp of something big...

surely the boom bat must be significantly poorer in terms of its performance to the skyer? I would hope that a �100 difference would make it many times better, so you must be able to hit it further, harder, faster and with more accuracy?

If their is not much difference then how can it justify the price difference?

I have one of the original skyers and love it!
