Refurb service
« on: April 16, 2012, 07:16:49 PM »

Alot of people asking for refurbs and weight reductions etc. this is something
I can do. Costs depend on what's needed. The below is just a guide.

General refurb- removal of stickers/ antiscuff, sanding, buffing to finish £22.50 inc return postage

Repair of toe cracks/edge cracks £22.50 inc return postage. (£10 if included with above)

Weight reductions and refurb £32.50 inc return postage.

I'm happy to quote on smaller jobs or anything that needs alot of work. Contact me for details.

Turn around can also be pretty quick.

thanks canners.

ive been  doing refurbs etc for a few years which ignited my passion for working on the bats. Nobody wants to pay loads for something like this so may aswell make it reasonable. i enjoy doing it so everyone wins.

Hello..

I just wanted to enquire about your weight reduction service.. Your prices are the best I've seen....

Have a couple of lovely bats acquired last season but had a back injury for most of it so they were unused. Got them out as finally bought a proper weighing scale to discover they're both at least 2-3 ounces heavier than I prefer (2.11ish) with grips and scuff sheet attached, which is why the pick-up of my H4L 666 has remained my favourite (2.9ish). Unfortunately this has a toe crack on one corner almost all the way through so will be taped up for training, most likely.

Regardless the issues I have are:

1. The bats are a. a Talisman Perfect Storm made by Tim Keeley and b. a Laver & Wood Special Reserve - Both have very different profiles so where would you be taking the willow from for the reduction and could I specify or would I leave it up to your expertise to ensure the pick ups are as good as can be after reduction.

2. I live in Prague and am back only in the UK for a week mid- April i.e. w.c.13th . If I send them Int'l courier before I return, can you guarantee getting both bats back to me to my UK address before I leave as can take them back on the plane with me. Even better if I courier to you when I return, delivery Tuesday, any chance of getting them back by the Friday before my plane leaves at the weekend?

3. Is it possible to retain the original stickers after a weight reduction/refurb? No disrespect to your Red Ink Stickers...

4. Just spotted the date of your post.. is the price still the same?

I must admit I'm in 2 minds about whether to weight reduce at all or sell them on the forum in order to invest in a new bat for this season but with the bat exchanges for the Talisman from the Hosk and money I paid for the Laver from a forum member in Switzerland, I feel I should make the most of them this coming season.

Please advise....
