Helios Midas review
« on: March 23, 2013, 10:02:07 PM »

So, I joined this forum over the winter and at the time I had a full decent set of kit. Since then, I have had 4 bats , 3 sets of gloves, 2 pairs of pads and a pair of keeping gloves (I'm not even a keeper).

One of the bats was Pedal's Helios which he sold via EBay. When I first received it, it did not strike me as anything too special. The stickers were OK but weren't fitted perfectly and the edge ones were a tad big. Pick up was nice but not great.

Anyway, I tapped it up a bit and it sounded nice, so I took the stickers off and gave it a brief sand down. Added Ayrtek ones as that's the only ones I had as well as a scuff sheet and knocked it in a bit. I also added some lead tape to counter balance it a bit.

Used it on Friday in the nets and I am very impressed by it. It has a massive middle and goes like a bomb already.

This bat has gone from a 3rd choice wet weather bat to my bat for the season I think.

It is so good that I feel sorry for taking the stickers off now, everyone should see that it is a Helios.

I actually quite like my Helios stickers. I think it goes well with bat shape, nothing too striking, and everyone at the club always mentions it. 8)

I didn't think they looked too bad, it was just that the toe one was bubbled and the edge ones weren't straight. I wish I had left the two top ones though.

So it was you!  I always knew that was a great bat, I kinda wish I still had it now that my Chase has been injured! Glad you're happy with it anyway!

Yes, it was me, and it was an absolute steal too. I can't wait to use it properly.

However, if you are wanting it back, I could be tempted to part with it for a small profit  :D.
