Protecting my runners

Hi,

After reading the footwear advice topic and people wearing through their runners i thought i would air my problem. I go through running shoes relatively quickly by wearing out the sole on the toe of my back foot where it drags batting and maybe bowling too whilst netting. Obviously spikes have that bit of extra cover there to stop this, however can't wear spike in the nets and dont like the feel of the rubbered spikes.

Any advice on how i could protect against this would be appreciated, i have heard of using shoe goo but have no experience with this so no idea what to do and also tennis shoes. Just any further opinions or advice on these option s or any other options you may have?

I get this too, shoo goo works well, i normally apply it after it starts wearing out just a little bit, mould it back as close to the original shape of the sole as possible.
the shoo goo will still wear out but really slowly

How does shoe goo work? I have never used it, only heard about it. Is it some kind of glue and you just squeeze it into the gap and spread it?

If i were you i would go down the route of tennis shoes- comfiest shows you will ever wear and the do have plenty of toe protection.
