I reckon it's just unfortunately placed dents. Looks like it's got a fabric imprint in the dents

TON stamps are nowhere near that deep.

From the condition of his bat it looks like its been rattling around in his bag, on the floor, and wherever else he feel like throwing it! Perhaps it's an unfortunately placed dent.

As Colesy said, does not have 'Made in England' sticker plus shoulders look way too thin for that unless its an angle.

I don't think dents could be that comprehensive due to the location.

Or maybe he was emulating Ricky Ponting ala;
