Ayrtek first impression!
« on: May 06, 2013, 09:52:00 PM »

Used my Ayrtek custom lid for the first time last week, must say, extremely comfortable, took me a bit of time to get the adjustment right, as we were in the middle of a batting collapse:(..but once I settled in, didn't even feel like I was wearing one, one of my team mates..strangely enough who sells aeroplane's was very impressed..told him it was the A380 of the helmet world..would have said Concorde..but it's retired now..so A380 an innovative plane..just like an Ayrtek lid. I still have Wahab's lid Tom..may send it back for a refurb..or get it signed from him this season. Could raffle it on here lol!

I left my Ayrtek lid in my car boot back at my club for my match against Tom and I got on ok without a helmet, only flinched when I got one on my gloves but apart from that I was ok. Next day I wore it and was equally ok. It's not something I notice when batting because my only focus is on the ball and it doesn't intrude my vision so have no complaints.

I totally agree with you. You actually forget you're wearing it, it's that light. Amazing bit of kit!

After all of those years of using equipment not suited to my game..mind you I was initially a bowler so didn't need much..was part of an 80 run partnership ..the other bat made most of em lol..but I was there with my Ayrtek lid, H4L pads, GN bat and gloves ..felt like a complete cricketer..most times I feel like a complete idiot..so this was a first! :)
