I bought a Kahuna Magnum last year. It looked like a good bat with nice straight grains and basically no blemishes, it was a nice piece of wood even tho it only had 7 grains. It was a typical kookaburra shape, not massive but i expected it perform well. After rigourous knocking in and preparation, i went out to have a hit with it in the nets and it wasn't the greatest. Especially for a $420 bat (AUD). I've never had a bat that expensive before but it wasn't great. It made a nice noise but the ball just didn't travel compared to other bats and i felt there just wasn't enough wood behind my shots.

Anyone else feeling the same about their bat? Anyone else purchase the same bat? What are your thoughts?

Of course with everybrand there are good bats and bad bats - I've never used a Kooka but have heard mixed reviews...

There is a guy that played against us last year with an Aussie Kahuna Magnum, he couldn't get it off the square even when he belted it, but like you say, made a nice noise, but it needs to go as well.

mate, i've got an old beast (with the graphite) and it goes. It could just take a while to play in or is just a dud. Where did you get it from? You may be able to get a refund. Also i found the kookaburra bats seem to be going down in quality.

my mate got a crap hunts bat. he sent it back to them and he got a new one!

Not keen on Kooks at all anymore, I bought a Ridgeback, after knocking in it went dead. Felt like batting with laminated fence panels. Truly awful!

My friend has a belter though so it seems it's luck.

i think they used to press them light, to make them go,but they broke alot,

i think this years and the more recent ones, have been pressed harder so they dont brake but theyve over done them, i think they need
to find that sweet spot

Had a Magnum was the wrost bat iv ever bought and i know one other who had that problem.
