Bats used in the rain - what do you do?
« on: June 13, 2013, 07:13:40 PM »

So we ended up playing a game in the rain last night and I was batting in the middle for a while and the bat got quite wet - especially around the toe area.

As soon as I got back home, I put it somewhere to dry and it seems that all of the wetness has gone from the bat - however what's the next stage? Reapply a light coat of oil straight away - or leave it to dry more and then reapply the oil? As It's only been drying for a day so far - and as oiling the bat locks in the moisture, I don't want to lock in the 'wetness'.

So what do you do in this situation?

Light sanding followed with a light coat of oil

Post-drying *gently* knock in any areas that might have swollen, especially the toe.
