Weight gain (Bats)
« on: July 08, 2013, 04:19:14 PM »

Hi guys. This is probably a stupid question but one I am curious to ask. I have a Slazenger V360 County. Lovely bat, looks and feels great but weighs 2.6

Apart from adding grips (which adds upper half weight to the bat and not the actual part that hits the ball) is there any way of getting this bat up to 2.8?

I am asssuming this is impossible but worth a try nonetheless. It's a lovely bat and I would hate to part with it.

Well you could take it into a steam room with you for a couple of hours. The extra humidity would see it absorb a load of moisture and could easily do it for you!

Leave it in a damp environment and watch it suck up moisture or bat in the rain. Could add tape to the handle under the grip, which would help pickup as well.

a decent scuff sheet will bump it up in weight a bit on the blade + toe guard if it doesnt have these already ???

Have a team bonding session with it in the showers  ;) or a scuff sheet and toe guard would add 2 Oz easily.

Would allowing it to absorb moisture from the air affect the long term life and durability of the bat? And also would it only temporarily work or would the bat just dry out again? I don't want to let it rot.
