I removed my anti scuff today as it was coming abit loose

as doing so bits of the wood came off with it!! they are only hiar line pieces (however there is one that is slighty bigger)

is this normal? will it do anything to performance? can I fix this?

how can i remove the glue to prepar the new anti scuff?

with light sand paper?

Will that sort his bits where the anti scuff has taken bits out of the wood too?

Yes its normal. The Anti scuff is there just for protection, so as it sticks for so long, like aynthing when you try and take it off its gonna have a bit of give. Next time try using a hairdryer or somthing on it, will make it much easier.

When you took the scuff off, did you pull sideways or pull downwards? Cause you should always take it off across the grainsa nd not with them. If youve pulled it downwards it will affect the bat as you are pulling the grains off a bit, and ripping the wood. If your pulling it sideways it wont affect the bat even if little bits of wood have come off, it wont affect the middle, there really just surface tears.

To get rid of the sticky glue youll have to sand it down, and then oil it again (oiling it is essential). Youll have to wait 5 days after oiling it to then apply the new anti-scuff.

No i took it off sideways - it was a tough job getting it off however. So maybe thats why its happened! Its annoying tho, as its my new M&H bat and its really annoyed me that its happened! -

will sanding it help get rid of those bare bits of wood - or am i stuck with those now?

just out of interested how wud using a hair dryer help??

Sanding it will not fully get rid of those pieces of woods but will definetly make them less noticeable. Depending how deep tehy are. if there just very small as you said it will get rid of them but if there big it will just make it smaller.

Putting a hairdryer on the antiscuff will sort of just loosing or soften it a bit and makes taking it off easier.

im sanding it now the glue is taking along time to get off fully - im worried about over sanding it down - incase it does anything to performance - or do i not need to worry about that and just get all the glue off no matter what?
