A visit to Kippax
« on: August 09, 2013, 11:29:27 AM »

After a great 5 days at the minor counties under 12s cricket festival we were heading back up the road and decided to have a detour via the Kippax factory. My son Tom has been nagging for a while to get a better bat than his incurza so after his first 50 for the county the time seemed right for an upgrade.

Driving up the track Tom wasnt so convinced as he was expecting some sort of industrial unit but once we drove into the yard everything changed. Willow trees were being chainsawed into lengths and there were clefts everywhere. Onto the shop where it is obvious that Kippax keep the best bats for sale here. They couldnt have been more helpful and after much deliberation we walked away with a size 6 and a fantastic harrow for later.

Many thanks to the guys for taking the time with us and here is a photo of Tom with his new bat along with a bat made for a high profile player.

We also bought a willow tree while we were there so watch this space in 15 years time haha

Great to see mate, how's your lad doing? He looked very impressive during the winter! PM me if you don't wanna stick it up here.
