Chris Gayles old bats
« on: November 18, 2013, 05:45:26 PM »

I've got two of Chris Gayles old bats here in my workshop for some repairs..obviously not his current bats..

The one is from Mervyn Dillon who lives here in Dallas now and the other from a hit youngster from Jamaica who also plays locally...

He was saying when he was here now a lot of the Ihsan bats Chris was using were actually just  Newbery bats which Chris used to put his Ihsan stickers on...

Can anyone tell what shape from Newbery these two bats may be... They both have the same profile and are around 3lbs

Possibly a GT? Or is the middle a tad too high? A lot of newbery shapes are very similar anyway!

Would he not have had custom adds by newbury?

I know Gaylestorm uses long blade Sides only in spartan(if they are spartan) but one of the, is clearly a short handle?
Has he switched at some point

I understand they have had some use, but how do they compare to the bats you sell to the man on the street?

Yep certainly B52 XL'ish Long Blade and Long Handle. They were selling one of his monsters in the shop during the summer.

Thats simply stunning! I wonder if Ryan or Dom could make that profile in 2.9? I cant find the Kelsall Custom or DS section on the forum, where is it located?

As far as I know, from when being in at the county ground shop, the shape is a custom LBLH and the one they've had lying around in the shop (a reject of his) weighs 3.4 and is beastly in size. It doesn't really look like a B52 in the flesh I don't think.
