Bench grinder
« on: August 19, 2013, 12:40:06 PM »

Hi guys, recently been thinking about making a bat. Today I was in B&Q and saw this bench grinder and I was wondering if it was decent for drawknifes, spokeshaves etc etc

No, they're absolute poocakes.  Takes a bit longer, but is much safer and easier doing it by hand.

Not really, they run too fast so can overheat the blade very quickly.

I use this and find it very good!
