GM LE Pads?
« on: August 11, 2013, 08:27:16 AM »

I got some today and i really like them. I quite like the wider fit even though they have no padded straps! The protection is top with all canes and there aren't too heavy for all canes.

Just curious as to how you guys think they weigh up to other top of the line pads? Puma? GN? Kooks? Other brands?

I've had the GMs for 2 years now and they are still going strong, so you can be sure you'll get your moneys worth

I struggle with the knee protection catching on the other pad as I run. Haven't had that problem with Pumas.

Was that not just for the D30 pads Tom as they are quite bulky around the knee?
When I had some GM original LE pads they were great

I felt i better try some GM's, they certainly have the best look pads of the main brands IMO.

Puma's are next on the list

Hopefully using the same pads as watto won't give me a string of LBW's

If you look at the knee roll, the left hand side sticks out a little bit more on these and the D3o pads. Really annoyed me!

I have absolutely no problem with these at all (I absolutely love these pads)!! I have no idea what Tim is talking about.

There is a set in the for sale section (repeat: must not buy another pair of mums and dads...)

There is one thing that annoys me about these pads (and i believe a problem on the D30 pads)

NO PADDED STRAPS! $145AU and no padded straps!, what's the point of making such a high quality pad and just leave out a little touch like that. (on my blade 750's it annoyed when i was having lots of nets)

Not a massive issue but still annoying.

Did you guys take notice of the lack of padded straps? was it annoying?

I also see what tim means, I'll have a net and see how it goes.

Yeah that annoyed me to especially when having nets but I didn't pay for them so can't complain. Padded straps is definitely something I'd expect from a top end pad

I have always taken the extra padding off the straps...!

At nets I always wear tracksuit bottoms to bat in.

Padded straps is never something I've paid attention to. I've generally got some form of trousers on, so it makes no difference.
