Bat tape question....
«
on:

After seeing this guy playing yesterday in England t20 league, i was wondering why he and some other international players, when using bat tape they dont wrap it around the damaged area and they just use it from around the edges in both sides... Do anyone knows the reason and if it really helps, or u guys prefer to wrap complete around the damaged area...
Cheers...

Maybe a rookie's guess, but I think they do it to reduce the extra weight that might be added (to the bat) with the tape. The experienced guys on the forum can correct me if I am wrong.

Bat tape down the sides is usually to stop the scuff sheet cracking on the edges more than protecting the bat!
The reason it's not wrapped all the way round is you don't need to. It's only used to hold a cracking face down.
