How to refurb this bat?
« on: September 08, 2013, 11:05:04 AM »

Hi,

I've just acquired this bat from my mate who didn't need it anymore, I don't intend to use it for playing as it has a carbon handle but I want to get it looking good. How would i go about doing this? Thanks

Here are a few pics of it in it's current state

Wow , that looks well used  :D.

The best you can probably do for it is start by giving it a good deep sand to clean it up and hopefully get rid of a couple of the lighter cracks. If some cracks are still left I would suggest putting some watered down pva into them to hold it together a bit more (and then send around where you put it in to remove the excess  :)) , and then get some bat tape around a few points on the bat , especially the toe as it looks a bit fragile at the moment!

Edit : When you say not using it for playing will you try and net with it or just for show?  :D

No problem , you may also want to re-twine the handle it or just do the bottom bit if it's possible and you don't want to do the whole thing , and do I need to say I think it needs a new grip  ;)?
