My Newbery!
« on: August 10, 2009, 10:27:25 AM »

Had to take some pictures of my bat which i have been using the past 3-4 seasons. It is goin off to get refurbed due to discovering a thin but long crack in the bat. Your thoughts are welcome :)

Cheers

MAte this bat is an absolute beaut the middle is amazing! lookin a little worse for wear atm but its such nice bat. I think i paid £150 for it.
Everyone at my club who has tried it has loved the feel of it! The weight of it is 2lb 12. But the pickup is beautiful!

i'm actually sending it off to Hit4six as Newbery's turn around is to long atm as well as the fact he is cheaper and he looks very reliable :)

Looks a very nice bat. The middle seems quite high, do you find that on start-of-season wickets that it's quite difficult to drive? I'm looking forward to seeing it after the refurb by Craig.

I dont really know why i chose this bat because the wickets i play on there is never really any bounce. But tbh the middle area is quite big so it has never really been an issue start of season, especially seeing as i play mainly of the front foot... it definately helps when playing aggresively though! dont know why though lol

The higher middle should give you greater bat speed so when you swing the bat i.e. playing aggressively the bat has more energy to transfer to the ball. That at least is my theory.

And a very stupid theory at that!

Kindly put Raymond...

The lower the middle the more batspeed is how it works I think

I see that I was wrong. Very wrong. Please accept my greatest apology. Sorry.

Edit - Does weight distribution affect the location of the middle?
