Just to get off the topic of the ashes can anyone tell me if there is much difference between the newbery gt and Harlequin?

The GT has a flatter face, so thicker edges.  Otherwise pretty similar...

Plus you can get a great Newbery 5star for £150 or spend twice that on an M&H. Both make cracking bats.

The SPS and Mk1 Harlequin are exactly the same price though - at least we sold them for the same price (£279.99) this year...

With the beauties you hand pick I'd be tempted to save £130 and get the 5 star GT. Just my opinion though, feel free to ignore me :)

Fair opinion - just a shame they never have any 5 Star GTs! The last two times I've been to Newbery, they had absolutely none in that grade...  :(

Well that shape M&H has been around for donkey's years - not sure how long the GT has been made for but it's probably less than the harlequin/original

I know the harlequin has been around for years but I don't think the shape has always been the same as the GT

I was thinking the same.  The middle on the GT moved higher up the blade last year.  It wasn't just the cadbury stickers that was new about it this time last year...

It has, because as far as I know the harlequin/ original have always been that shape - the gt has changed, not the M&H
