I had a 2'8 bat that had a poor pick up and at times I felt slow moving it
I got a new 2'8 bat that picks up well but I have lost the punchy shots I had and started to swing to fast and lost shape on shots (although it does ping well)

How much diffenece is there between a 2'8 bat and a 2'9 bat. I'm looking at the kookaburra impulse which has a good pick up but if I get the 2'8 will it pick up "too" light

If I get the 2'9 bat will it feel to sluggish

Are your old and new bats the same profile / middle position mate?

When you are talking about only 1oz difference it is all down to feel. I usually use a 2.9 but I have used 2.11 bats that have a great pick-up / balance. In a 'blind test' I'm sure it would be difficult to tell which was which.

So, in short, I recommend you go and pick the bats up. Don't get too hung up on 'dead weight', it is much more important that the bat 'feels' right.

perfect advice. Pick it up and go with what feels best. 1 oz is nothing dead weight wise but the shape can make it feel totally different.
