Asad (Uzi sports) had some nice Newbery B52's when I went to his shop! I got an SPS but it was 2.12, send him a pm and I'm sure he will send you some pics and weights.

After a new bat and would like the following, could anyone advise me of makes/models that may fit the bill?

Weight - 2.9ish
Profile - Minimal scooping, not too high spine with a roundish back, long mid/lowish middle
handle - thicker the better with oval/semi oval
grains - 10+ (obviously each bat is different but I do like at least 10)
price - £150ish max

Any suggestions of makes.models and where they may be best to buy from would be appreciated.

Hi Dave

To be honest I could reel off a list if my favourites but truth is any of the sponsors could make you a bat tailored to your specifications or one of the retailers pick you out something. I would suggest have a good look through the forum sections and reviews of members purchases and drop a few pm's to people. Personally I have a couple of cracking bb's but John at Red ink or Paul at Aldred (who's posted his 2014 prices earlier today) both make some lovely looking sticks!

Speak to tai or mike at Blank Bats. I have one of there bats at the mo and to me it's almost like a newberry tour. Almost roundish Back to it and a decent thick oval handle and apparently the bat maker knows his stuff.

If you are willing to go a big heavier I have a 2.12 kookaburra ccx 900 that fits all those categories bar the weight. I've double gripped it and as per SimonMays advice put lead tape on te handle to increase balance. Picks
