Does more wood = better performance?

If so, would it not be more beneficial to have an even amount of wood across the back of the bat? Giving the whole blade uniformity in performance?

That the Newbery tour principle.

Doesn't this remind you of the shape of the new GM 6Six ? And you will notice joe root uses this shape bat just not as much concaving. Went to the kippax factory yesterday picked myself out one and the rebound qualities are amazing. Just waiting for the new pads and gloves to come in stock at the end of the week and go pick them up along with another bat

Strangely enough though, the middle on mine is better than a lot of bats with higher spines… It is a strange one, it's basically a GN scoop, except with the scoop filled in!

Tour did not sell that well because it was hard to get quite a big one because of the eveness of the wood.

I guess it another perimeter powered bat.

This is a nice bat and indeed Mr Kippax and Leafy have some lovely willow.

True, I wonder what criteria the clefts have to tick off before becoming a 'Tour' cleft. I think mine has a 38mm edge, and the spine isn't much higher. It will be interesting to see how this compares to a Crown cleft, maybe I should ask the Doc… I'm sure that there can be bigger ones made, you just have to find an even lighter cleft to have it at a useable weight!

Anyways, back on topic, I'm sure you'll edge many a six with this bat! I've always wanted a bat with 3 edges! ;)

It is big, even the toe is fairly thick, but does have more concaving than your Ltd edition bat I have, both ping and because they are thick where it counts the middles are massive, yours is truly good, so good and bespoke that I have lent it to one of my staff to try in the nets in the hope that he buys one from you :)

sounds good to me mate. hope he likes it.

for me its just a personal preference, id much rather see wood in the spine and decent sized edges rather than huge edges and no spine. to me it just looks odd. but each to their own, they are just meeting the demand of the customers who crave the big edge fashion. i use a modern style profile myself but the edges are around 35mm and spine is a healthy 65mm plus. throw in a bit of concaving and it certainly packs a punch.

Outside edge, inside edge, bottom edge, most bats have these, or at least the ones I use do.  ;)

Gotta say im with you on this.  Theres a lot of 'profiles' around that appear designed more to capture the consumer than striking cricket balls.  The owner likes it and recons it goes so I guess thats all that matters.

By that logic, you should also have a top edge! ;) In all fairness, I find the edge so consistently I only need two!

Would it be possible to have a shot up from the toe to see the extent of concaving? Thanks!
