Hi,

Thought this maybe of interest to some of you but as of October 27th i will be working for Kookaburra in Aus as they start to add an Australian made element to their bat production. If anybody has any questions ill do my best to answer them for you.

Dan,

Congratulations on the job.  Always been a big fan of kookaburra. I used to use the ridgeback and blade.

Good luck.

Kookaburra bats made in Aus? Will you be setting up a factory similar to the GN set up?

Based at their Moorabbin (Melbourne) headquaters where they also make the balls.

A workshop is currently in the process of being set up. Im not sure what Grays is like over here but it will be capable of making bats from start to finish.

That is good news.

Impressed by kook this year. Not only have they got a range of bats that aren't all over concaved clones of each other. But now there adding this to the range.

They just need a shop in the UK so I can buy a kahuna in 2.14!!

Wow this is really surprising, considering Kookaburra in Australia (and I assume everywhere else) has been Indian for about forever. Are they rolling this out for all bats or just top of the range "Players Edition" ones?

It's a great set up down there, we were down visiting Leigh and Pillo in June, very professional place. Are you going to do repairs as well?

Do you play cricket yourself? if so who for?
Would you be able to get me some good deals because I live in Victoria Australia aswell :)?

That's great that kookaburra is making bats in Australia as well. Make sure that this is the last season where every bat is concaved.

Thank god for that!

It is about time kookaburra started to move back from SG, even if it is just to improve the finish of the bats.

The finishing on my kookaburra bat was so terrible, it looked as if it wasn't even fine sanded
