team training
« on: January 30, 2014, 05:49:34 PM »

Hey guys,

how do you guys go about training in the nets with the whole team? One lane, 15 mins each player gets to bat? Just trying to figure out how does every team practice and has it been helpful.

Also, does anyone here use Side-arm cricket? trying to find out if its worth getting for the team.

Hi bro, we usually do one lane with 20 mins a person, granted we usually have about nine to ten players. It's not ideal but we have no choice as the indoor facility available only has one lane. Indoor facilities are a very scare commodity in my country. Ideally I would think two lanes, one for the bowlers to do target/spot bowling and for the batters. If a bowling machine is available great, if not I think side-arm works fine. Hope this helps..

For coaching Juniors i use:
1 lane normal netting (10 mins each)
1 lane of betting technique / bowling technique on alternating weeks (10 mins each)
ANd then some fielding for however long is left
(2 stations with wickets in the middle - keeper stands at wickets, coach hits it out to one of the cones - that fielder picks up and takes a shot at stumps, the fielder at the opposite cone backs up and returns to keeper)
