Sponsorship
« on: February 05, 2014, 08:58:53 AM »

Good Morning Gents/Ladies the topic of SPONSORSHIP has created an interesting read for me I thought it was a perfect time for Bellingham and Smith to out line there Rules of engagement regarding Sponsorship.
1) As a company we will be offering a number of Brand Ambassador Sponsorships.
2) We will only be looking at age group of 17 and above.
3) They must have a minimum playing level of Premier league cricket within there relevant County, higher achievements (county level or international age group representation)  will obviously be more advantageous in being offered a Sponsorship.
4)The prices and discount % the successful candidate's receive will obviously vary the higher the grade player the better deal he will get .
5)All details of our agreement will be kept between the player and B&S any breach of this by the player will result in cancelation of agreement kit recalled and no reimbursement of money if any money was paid .
6) All Brand Ambassador's are expected to behave and conduct them selves in a professional way PLAY HARD PLAY FAIR.
I hope the forum  members find the above mentioned points useful any questions I will do my best to answer them.

Nice post, gutted I'm just below prem level so can't apply. But I am glad to see a forum sponsor offering this opportunity on here. It is good for both party's.

Well done b and s.

If only 'the flourish' was amongst them...

If companies only want 'prem' players then surely as most players at that level already get something it's of little to no benefit (ie who is actually going to see it ?).Why not take people below that, where the market is less saturated by companies already and people are more likely to be interested in what the good player is using as they play with them? Plus, most play lower than prem so only a very small % will ever see a prem player.. Not exactly good exposure.

Oh well, I don't play ECB prem so looks like I'm out too :(

Edit- sorry, on the iPad messes up some of the words :)

Other companies may very well look at lower league players and please I must stress we are not belittling   lower league players I am very much one of those players who loves to play the game.
Not too sure on what numbers you think we are looking at for sponsorship's but I can tell you we will not be doing more than six for the season hence the need to target the higher skilled player in the hope of more EXSPOUSURE in bigger crowd attendances bigger grounds and the big one possible TV exposure also weekly local newspaper reports do publish all local club results but the photo on the back page is generally reserved for the main MEN or so to speak  that's B&S reasoning

So technically of you are close friends with the leagues publicity officer and often get in the paper? Would this help sponsorship? Haha

When you are a smaller brand, the right exposure is a must.

As you say, unless you are desperate to impress, the sponsorships given to most players are not worth it as you can pick up kit cheaper elsewhere than from the retailer (If you are Savvy in the sales).

I'm 30 - I have taken over 500 league wickets and my batting average has not dipped below 30 at any level of club cricket (Been as high as 76), I am in the paper most weeks for 5+ wicket hauls. I have played lots of Prem Cricket, Minor counties, First Class 2nd XI, even played six ODIs for England U17 and got a Uni scholarship on the basis of it BLAH BLAH BLAH...  and the most I have ever got is 75% off (And ALL your essential kit has to be purchased from the sponsor - no mixing and matching for the best kit).

For sponsorship to be worthwhile in my view, you must be playing regular 1st Class Cricket. It's proper sponsorship when you get kit for free BUT only the TOP TOP players get paid to use it.

Is this you Phil ?
