Kookaburra Pro Player's pads.
« on: March 09, 2014, 04:00:05 AM »

Hey guys,
I've managed to make contact with somebody in Australia who is prepared to sell me Kookaburra pro player's pads, (They were extremely hard to find in a youths size)
So I was wondering, apart from having minimal logo's and looking amazing, are there any other noticable differences to the amount of protection compared to the off the shelf model of the same pad?.

The kahuna pro players pads I own have a thin but very well padded sheet that feels almost like metal hidden away behind the shin bolster. The quality is also of a very very high standard and I think the pads will last a long time, also the straps are shorter than the shop models imo which is great due to me always having strap left over when putting on pads. Procricket has seen them and says they are very well made and have very good protection and he knows a thing or two about pads! One last thing I dunno if the shop model are the same but the pro players shin bolster is made out of a sort of memory foam material

The thread for mine is here:

There used to a bloke who played 1xi who had a pair, protection looked OK. But having cotton where your shin is, isn't really for longevity of the pad.

Very good pad as Tony describes protection is top class and so are the materials used.

The only downside to the pad is there slightly heavy due to the protection used and offered but a top class pad they are no doubt about that.

Yeah I agree with Dave that the pads are a little heavy esspecially compared to his SS embossed pads but kookaburra haven't cut any corners when making the pads they are an elite pad
