Chris woakes has had the nod. (warwickshire)

Giles has been trying to get him in the team since becoming selector.
Another non-cricketing ability selection, "good lad selection".

Interesting that the consensus seems to be that neither Stokes nor Dernbach are good enough to play T20 internationally. And yet Stokes was the 13th highest run scorer in the FLT20(with a far higher S/R than any of the 12 who scored more runs than him) whilst Dernbach was the 4th highest wicket taker in the tournament.

So what is the cause of the problem? Is it a mental thing? Is the standard of the FLT20 too weak due to a lack of quality foreign players? Lack of ethics?

Some of the stories about Stokes in the Ashes was interesting to say the least, if management found out these things don't think he will be in the team for too much longer!

I've always thought the FL t20 is a poor quality competition. A few on here have disagreed.
But way too many teams, quality isn't great. Struggles to attract the big names, few retired blokes like ponting looking to make a small buck. If the England internationals players don't play, I don't see how anyone rates the competition.

Stokes may have scored runs but there is a lack of quality spinners in the fl t20. Wasn't samit one of the most successful spinners last year. Says a lot about the competition

Big bash doesnt have aus internationals in either this year

Warner played once
Bailey in the final
Clarke not at all
Johnson not at all
Etc etc

They had no south africans as there t20 ram slam is at the same time.
Only the odd west indian as they chose to play ram slam(narine being one)

They had to rely on hales, bopara and kieswetter to bring in tje crowds.
yet all in all was a sucfessful tournament.

Aussies and SA domestic competitions had fewer teams, that's why the competition is of a higher standard. Do you seriously think teams like derby and Glamorgan etc make the FL a strong competition.
It needs a revamp, with only 6-7 teams

Big bash had it's fair share of international players too.

That's the old County structure problem rather than a FLT20 one...

But the big bash had decent domestic players, the likes of marsh brothers, Brett lee, finch, hussey bro's.
A mix of international class players and retired players in every team.

Is it not time for the ecb to go down the franchise route? Or are they scared to upset the counties.
Probably will never change since most counties rely on the money from the t20's

Doesn't fit the England mould they appear desperate to create. Good team players with work ethics don't go around getting all angry and smashin things up.. That's bad boy behaviour which has been outlawed... Unless we are going to see duel standards applied of course?!?!!?
