L&W Classic profile
« on: February 19, 2014, 06:23:45 AM »

Received my L&W Classic profile bat last week. Looks like a very nice bat, finish was amazing, felt like ivory when it came. Taps up nicely and produces slightly hollow sound much similar to my Scat. I feel once played in a little it should go well (hope so). The weight should be around 2.10-2.10.5 which is what I asked for and felt like its weight when it came, didn't check the exact weight as I do not weigh my bats normally (to avoid doubts about bat weight in my mind while batting), just go on the feel. I am not too fussy on the bat weight , for me bat weight is either very light, light or heavy than my liking as I usually go on the pickup, and can use most bats in range of 2.9.5 to 2.12 depending on the pickup though I prefer around 2-10.5-2.11. Looking at forum history of guys receiving 1-1.5 ounce heavier than they asked I ordered 2.10 - 2.10.5, but the bat looked spot on when it arrived. After a week I feel it has dried out a little (being in India) and feels 0.5 ounces lighter atleast since it arrived. Handle is oval at the bottom but narrows sharply as we go up, looks slightly thin to me as it has 2 grips on atm. I'll let you enjoy the pics, they are my mobile's pics so might not be of the best quality -

Forgot to mention service was great as well.

Love that profile up there with my favourite of all time :)

Can't go wrong with a Laver. I now own two and will probably get a third in a season or so

Different stickers than usual?

I requested for green stickers but was surprised with those stickers as well but don't mind having the same stickers on both sides, though I would have preferred the smaller green one. This was made by Toby so could be Toby's stickers. Bat looks good for Perf grade 1, spine is high but the edges are very very small, would have been better with slightly thicker  edges. I pointed out one of their same classic profile bats that they had on FB which had slightly thicker edges and convex spine but it came this way, no complaints though I know my batting average won't increase significantly with an increase of few mm on the edges  :D.

Thanks everyone for appreciating this beauty.

I would also like to give Toby his due credit, the finish on the bat was like I have never seen on any bat and it is pressed pretty well. I was told it was knocked in and ready to play and indeed it looks ready for throwdowns.

Wow, that is a spine and a half, should get some serious ping out of it.
