I was at nets tonight and looked down and saw this after batting. Looks like a compression crack but am I wrong, and more importantly, is it going to be ok?

Can I repair it myself, I'm a pretty handy DIYer. I was going to glue and clamp with pva.

It's quite a simple fix watered down pva makes it easier to get to the bottom of the crack then clamp it overnight

Watered down PVA in the split, wrap tightly in Sellotape or parcel tape overnight (easier to apply to toes than a clamp and doesn't mark the willow) and job should be a goodun.

About 70-30 with more glue to start, can always add more water I needed.
You want it to get runnier so it goes down the crack easier, but not watered down so much it loses strength.

It's all done by eye really, you'll get a "that's about right" moment when you've added enough water.

I echo what has been said already. Just some watered down PVA glue and a clamp/packaging tape. If you use a clamp, put some cardboard either side of the bat, it should stop any dents from happening.

I would get a knife/flathead screwdriver into the crack to wedge it open slightly, then get the pva into the gap, I use a syringe but it isn't necessary to do so, I just find it easier. (Printers ink needles are cheap on eBay and work brilliantly)

Sellotape or use a clamp to hold the crack closed for a few hours (use some wedges of scrap wood or some folded cardboard to protect the willow from the clamp, try to spread the pressure of the clamp basically)

Remove everything and sand to a neat finish, done.

Everything has basically been said i think, Glue and clamp.
Maybe wouldn't hurt running a strip of fibre glass tape around the crack just to hold it together

Dont see the need of watering glue for this crack... just open it with a knife pour some glue and u can get deep into the crack blowing the glue with a straw... then as said before clamp it (i prefer parcel tape for this case) and thats it...
