So with more and more duffles appearing on the forum who has made the switch from large wheelie to duffle bag in one form or another and what did you go for? On the same note has anyone gone the other way?

I'm contemplating getting myself a duffle. I currently use a tiered wheelie and it's becoming a little tiresome having to lift different layers to remove kit etc. There seem to be a lot of good quality duffles on the market at the moment but are they much more convenient? I drive to all games so don't have the issue that others have put in previous threads about transport and changing rooms are generally a decent size in my league.

Would be interested in hearing your thoughts / experiences.

I switched from a GM duplex wheelie 2 seasons ago when I took a new job and gave my company car back - now have a shamrock and wouldn't go back (fits everything in including a couple of bats). I really don't miss Lugging it around the countryside!

I went from a GM original easi load wheelie to a slaz v360 last year. Much prefer it for ease of lugging around on public transport and fitting into smaller dressing rooms, just wish it was a tad bigger. Can just about fit everything in but when it's cold and I need jumpers etc it's a bit of a tight fit. Plus keeping my pads/bat in the main pocket can be a pain as it's sometimes difficult to get them in past the helmet - just need to remember to load stuff in the right order.

I never used the wheels when I had a wheelie as I just prefer carrying my bag so will stick to duffles, was even tempted to upgrade to the new gray nics one a bit ago.

I went from a GN Nitro piece of turd to a Salix duffle. I put all my clothes/wash bag in a tote and all fits in well. Also more popular in the changing room, particularly the small ones!

I agree on a Slaz V360. Big but you have to pack carefully to get the most out of it.

Ayrtek helmet with some spare balls in the top. I'm lucky my pads are not too big so I can also fit my strippers and gloves in the lower front pocket.

If they were to enlarge that pocket by making it deeper (i.e. taking it all the way to the back and halving the full length pocket), you'd be using the space more efficiently. That and running two padded bat sleeves down the sides would make it ideal.

btw I only carry it with one strap over my shoulder. I can't tell you if there is enough back padding if you use both. Hope this helps.

I have the v360, and it isn't far off my sales pod pro in size.

When using both straps,  as long as you don't have your bats against your back,  I've found it to be plenty comfy.

I have to say I prefer the wheelie

I have a duffle for when I dont have the car to get to practice, though on match day with kit and keeping stuff kook players pro gives me all the organisation I need.

When I've used a duffle I've always had my whites and towel etc in a separate bag
