I open the batting but I have developed a problem with facing left handed bowlers bowling over the wicket. My technique is pretty sound but I seem to really struggle with the new ball when they're getting a bit of swing. Does anyone have any tips or share the same problem?

My only get out at the moment is a cover drive off over pitched deliveries and even that feels risky sometimes.....

Get down the other end and watch your mate struggle, left arm seamers should be banned!!

I open up my stance a tad. It gives me a good view of what's going on.

Maybe move a little deeper to give you time to adjust.

Are you ok with opening the face and gliding through the 4th slip area? That's one try.

I open the batting as well , If it swings then I bat outside the crease (if the keeper is not up the stumps) .

How far I go down the wicket depends on the speed of the bowler and my confidence level on the day.

and I open my stance as well.

Also I change my guard when I start batting outside the stumps. If it is a left armer I move my guard bit towards leg side so I don't get bowled around my legs, other way round for right arm bowlers

I do try the stance did improve me a bit, but the deeper is a interesting idea ill give it a go at the next opportunity! If I'm honest its not my best shot worried about taking a top edge especially when I first come to the crease but perhaps something for me to practice in the nets

When facing left armers I bat on one, and open my stance, say 30 degrees, so I'm facing the bowler, not the ump, as I would be to a right armer, as you tend to then strain your self to look at the bowler.




Then when he over pitchers smash it back over his head, if he drops it short pull it over midweek....

Left Arm over bowlers that swing it into your pads should be banned. 
Got out to one in the last game, missed the ball and the ball hit my pads and went onto the stumps 
I open my stance a fair bit, but I'm still totally useless at dealing with it, well anything thats a leg/middle stump line and swinging in

Take middle and leg and open your stance. Play forward defensively where possible and drive rather than flick off the pads. Ive always been strong on my pads and drive/pull anything loose. Make the bowler bowl to your strengths and leave anything wide swinging away. The one that swings away late is the danger ball, so just clear your mind of any shots and watch the ball as he runs in. Walk away and gather your concentrations if you get too excited after a boundary or near miss as its the next ball you will playing poorly. For me that is when the footwork stops and the premeditation begins. You have time to do that when you are out so clear you mind and watch the ball.
