Bowling action.
« on: May 22, 2014, 05:29:34 AM »

Anyone got advice that I can give to a new player at my club? When he gets into his delivery stride, he sort of misses out using his back foot. I think this means his feet are too close together when he actually releases the ball which is in turn making it harder for him to stay balanced and control his line and length.

What I'm really after is a way of helping him get used to using that back foot more, although I worry that he might be a bit set in his ways now and it might be too much to completely rebuild his action.

Any ideas considered!

Can't really comment much without actually seeing it, but the best way to go about it is to slow it riiiight down, go through the action off no steps then progress to walking off a few steps through the action

Thanks mate,
It's hard when you can see what someone is doing wrong but can't tell them how to get over it. Luckily . I've had a bit of a result on this actually. I tweeted Ian Pont and he forwarded me a couple of posters from his website that are going to help me out! What a gent. If you haven't read any of his books they are worth a look.
