Masuri club interior conversion
« on: August 10, 2014, 02:20:55 PM »

Afternoon all

As I've recently gone back to my old masuri (club model with a Ti Grille fitted) and I had an old Slaz lid that I'd tried (unsuccessfully) to de-brand I thought I'd try and make my entry leve club helmet have a top end feel!

I didn't get a pic of the inside of the club but found this on google.

What I started with

From there I removed the interior of both helmets (including the Velcro tabs to stick the padding in).
Both lids looked something like this on the inside.

The I positioned the Velcro on the red interior padding, positioned them where I wanted them to sit and marked the position of the Velcro.

I fixed the Velcro with super glue, then marked the area the grey foam pad would sit.
Once marked I covered this area and the back of the foam and stuck in place.

The end result:

And a few left over parts to put in the Slaz if I get bored one day!

I like that idea. My best mate found an older Masuri in the club shed, in poor condition scrubbed it up and replaced the interior similar to the way you've done it but with a bicycle interior and it worked out rather good.

Why did you try to de-brand the Slaz? Just curious. And does altering a lid from the manufacturer's specification invalidate any warranty or guarantee?

I tried to de-brand the Slaz because it was an old lid that wasn't getting used, so thought I'd give it a go. No real reason for it really.

And altering a lid probably does invalidate any warranty, but I wasn't bothered by that (and am not aware what warranty a helmet comes with!)
