Having compared willow false Growth with a growth line I am fairly certain it's a growth line in the bat rather than false growth but false growth and growth lines are very similar though growth lines in willow tend to be more prominent  longer and straighter than false growth.

I reckon you could have used the word "growth" a few more times in that sentence.

False growth, growth line, whatever it is, if it proves to be a problem and the bat fails in that area (or indeed any other area) we will of course look after the customer and arrange a replacement.

I have a bat with such a mark, albeit not as long and I haven't had any issues with it so far.
