What are the chances?
« on: July 08, 2014, 09:23:39 AM »

Statistically, what are the chances of both number seven's in a first class match making double hundreds?

More to the point, what are the chances of getting the 7 and 8 in the same side scoring nearly 400 runs between them?

Probably higher - that could happen in a one sided game, whereas both seven's doing it implies an equally matched one.

Awesome game of cricket, track is so flat they have just taken a 22yd strip out of Brisbane Airport and put it at the National Cricket centre, is a small ground but not as small as others and boht sides played very well. Im working at the game and is just insane, at 6/99 to  have a lead of 80 is simply un heard of. From what they said today it is the highest ever partnership for the 7th wicket in any First class cricket in AUS and 2nd highest ever. The keeper (whiteman) innings was chanceless and Mitch Marsh was dropped/missed stumping on 136. still an awesome day of cricket. middle of Winter and not a cloud in the sky and 21 degrees

What are the chances of someone making their first first class hundred and first first class double at 6 and 7 in the same innings

Looks like the new ball did something in each innings and then it flattened out/bowlers tired.

Now that he has represented Australia A, I think Whiteman is committed to Australia for the next four years?

He looks a likely lad does the boy born in Doncaster, Yorkshire.

The ECCB talent scouts will be kicking themselves that they missed him after the lengths they have gone to poach every Zimbo, Saffer, NZedder and Aussie that they could get their hands on.

Whitey looks a rare find.

Cameron Boyce was playing for Henley CC last year after Ashton Agar left... Not bad at signing those Aussies!

Not sure where the ICC stand with that one - I think like Sam Robson it would come down to where he first plays international cricket (provided he has kept up his qualification time in the UK)
