Kookaburra 950 menace bat
« on: March 17, 2014, 03:38:49 PM »

Bought a kookaburra menace 950 bat from sports direct and its very hard, feels like a very cheap bat.
I've knocked it in with a mallet and an old ball, used it in the nets and let other lads use it and we all agree is nowhere near the standard it should be!

Any ideas on what I should do with it ??????????? please

Yes.  Sell it to me for £30.  It's clearly a plank, will never ever open up and you should get rid asap  ;)

Kookaburras are very hard. My teammates menace 950 was a plank to start with and took some serious nets, catching practice use to get it to open up.

But it did and its a beast.

As I mentioned in another thread, I bought a Bubble from Jake on his pre order offer.

Spent some time knocking it in and I've been using it in the nets for the past couple of months.  It was - and still is to an extent - hard, but I can feel it opening up after 4-5 hours of nets; probably facing 400-500 balls.

You hear good things the majority of the time about the top end Kooks.  There are always exceptions but you have to give it time, in my opinion.  My advice?  Give it a few nets, if you still don't like it and it doesn't feel like its opening up, flog it on here - someone will take it off your hands...

The £30 offer is still on the table  ;)

just wait, stay with it you wont be disappointed, if you have 4 weeks till first game you have lots of time for at least 8 more hours knocking in id say should be nice by 2nd or third game!

You'd recommend one, with a warning that it will take a lot of knocking in...!

Used the bat for the season, scored shed loads and then sent it back to kookaburra for a refurb. Came back today fully cleaned up with new impulse stickers . The lads at kookaburra have done a fantastic job . Pics to come
