Neon everything - effectively a grand total of £0 (One bonus of spending countless hours per day running the company)

Along with that I'm using my Ayrtek, a Pair of Puma EvoSpeeds and shortly a set of Stretton Fox's - just need bonus day to come around and I can get them ordered!

Mr Neon be careful taking goods without paying for them, if the inland revenue find out they will be all over you like a rash and it will be treated as wages or drawings if you arent a limited company.

I think this is why cricket as a game is struggling in some parts of the country! You need to fork out over £100 on kit plus membership fees on top and then pay for your tea, it's an expensive game and getting harder and harder to attract new people to the sport in my opinion.

I play at 2 clubs. And am invovled eoth several others. And know people around .

Not one of them clubs have a kit bag. As it was dit hed years ago due to lack of use. Mainly because the bats were planks. And the pads still had bucckles on them.

Clubs should be encouraged to buy a decent kit for there kit bag in an attaempt to entice and keep people playong who cant afford decent kit.

Maybe the ecb could put money into vouchers to buy decent quality kitbags.
And the likes of vitas/ijc/uzi do high quality kit bag deals for them vouchers to be used on.

When i was a youth my family was poor. So i had to use kit bought from a car boot, as did my dad. But it was still better than what was in the clubs kit. Which was quite frankly embarrassing.

If there was some midrange gm, ton, kook gear in there. And have been more enticed to use it. And felt better about playing.

Limited company mate, got that covered haha - did Finance at Uni and set the company up during, actually used it for part of my Dissertation, definitely a good experience!

Totally agree with this, I for one would be more than happy to join a scheme like this - great idea

We need to get more people playing the sport, whatever their background - I'd hate to think someone couldn't enjoy cricket just because they can't afford kit

Very well behaved indeed. You are unlikely to fit in 'round here showing that kind of fiscal responsibility..........

so if they ask you to reconcile your stock movements to your sales/purchases how are you going to do it? I know the answer (im a finance controller/director) but im interested in your approach because im not sure you will be able to provide an answer to them.

Well the kit in question is still under the ownership of the company - it was used for samples and testing originally so its all under R&D costs. If it ever became a problem I'd buy it off the company, simple invoice would suffice - I've put enough money in to cover the kit I have at least 10 times over at RRP anyway so I could easily just say I've purchased it legally

Didn't play at all last season because of work, so thought I'd buy some new kit this season to G myself up a bit ;)

Last seasons kit:
Merlin Legend £150
Merlin Legend pads and gloves £75
GM 808 gloves £25 (tony pryce)
Matsuri Ti £0 (free from my brother)
Adidas 22yds highs £50 (some sports shop that closed down in Plymouth)
DC unilite trainers spiked by my grandad
Aero p2 strippers £20 on ebay
Gray nicolls box ;)
Newbury SPS bag £75

This was my kitbag from when I last played. Haven't needed to buy a lot, but wanted too...

SF Saphire/SS Heritage Ton £200 for both! From online stockist (stoked, both are looking really good pieces of timber)
Still got the Merlin Legend
SS super Test gloves £28
SS Test Opener pads £25 (both from online stockist, slight discount purely because these replaced out of stock items I ordered)
Same GM 808 gloves
NB orange spikes £50 ebay (sold my bowling boots to my dad and the unilites died)
Same Lid
Same body protection
Newbury SPS blew up when moving house so opted for the Salix Pod One Tri wheel £75 (cricket direct)
All my new clubs kit (whites, trackies, Gillette, shorts...) Agame sports £170

If anyone wants some Merlin pads and gloves (gloves unworn and pads worn for this and last years winter nets) let me know looking for £40ish

My nearest cricket shop is miles away so most stuff is hunted on eBay or bought online.
