BDM vs BAS??
« on: November 21, 2009, 11:15:20 PM »

Which one seems better, I've personally have had both of them and think think the pressing and quality of the BDM is slightly better.

The local batmakers who have had the privilege to travel to their factories who do you think is better and who makes better softs?

BAS is way ahead of BDM in terms of quality of bats. Prices are more reasonable as well

Soft goods are better for BDM, but not a huge difference.

some pictures of BDM TITANIUM bat 2lb 13oz, normally this bat comes in light to medium weight but this was specially made as per buyers weight requirment, 13 ruler straight grains, no blemishes at all, 37 mm edges...picks up like a 2lb 11oz though...BAS & BDM's both make top stuff, TITANIUM & LE are 2 top most bats from BDM...

I have used both and I have to admit they are about equal in my eyes.

I used a blank top of the range BDM around 2 years ago and that absolutely flew! It was a very lightweight cleft, must have had around 40mm edges and was 2lb 9oz, no concaving and a huge middle, and that is up there with one of the best bats I have used, shame the player took it back to Aus with him!

I have also used a BAS Grade 2 (cant remember the name now) in the same season, but it was not as big as the BDM, but around the same weight. The ping was nice and i hit a 50 with it, but I would go with BDM personally.

I agree with hit4six, BDM bats are quite buldgy for their actual weight!!! They use top quality clefts for their grade 1 models...pickup is also very light, in my opinion they are also value for money aswell...

hit4six - I agree I used them both as I mentioned before but I've only had 1 bat of each so was looking for a larger audience opinion.. I seriously think BDM makes the best bats in India..

I have seen 2 or 3 of these BDM Titanium bats in the flesh, and all of them have had beautiful straight grains and looked like total guns!!
But have never actually used one, so cant comment! But they certainly look the part!!

So those are some decent Indian bats. But how does a bat brand from Pakistan compare....such as CA or AS?
Anyone used bats from both countries?

Havn't used it but the BDM helmet sounds terrible! It weighs 1038g!

Id go with BAS against BDM every time, I've personally used both manufactures bats and find BAS to be superb, i also like the softs they offer. I have also used bats from Pakistan Like As and Ca and didn't find them to be as good as BAS and they were not as cost effective in price against quality and performance.

I have also used a couple of MB Malik Sher bats and found them to be very very good indeed, another i would definitely recommend is SS as i rate them very highly however they seem to come at a bit more of a premium compared to others but worth every penny. I'm not sure why anyone would want to spend £220 or more on a bat when you can buy quality from BAS SS Malik etc etc and save £80.00. Ive used just about every main brand like Kook, Puma,Slaz,GM,GN as well as many custom made companies and I've not found something which was worth the extra £80.
