Thanks for all the dimensions, and it seems we are short but not absurdly short. The "Small Yorkshire" post was really cool. I was surprised by the irregularity and the tree. Our ground pinches in to that 97 yard dimension because of a  tree and then bends out again. This is fun because that point becomes a target for glory and the repository of many a catch. We have a young sparse red maple that is actually in play, but it isn't a problem---sort of like that tree at one of the Kent grounds. I need to see if Nether Whitacre or Ledsham takes foreign players---the dimensions suit my game

It is short straight but not always 28m to one side - for the league games it is much longer as we play more in the middle of the square.  Playing Stapleton next season and that is tiny to each side....

Stapleton is like a snooker table! Fairly long straight but tiny square... Their wicket was a disgrace when we played there aswell, we rolled them out for 59...

Never actually measured our ground at Wickwar CC in Glos but I paced the boundary one time to see if we could get away with a boundary rope and it was 440 yards. It is what some would say fairly substantial and not alot of 6's get hit. I've brought the boundary in ever so slightly this year to try and make it more interesting.

I played at pottern cc in Wiltshire a few weeks ago and the boundary one side was on the 30 yard circle. Bit strange.

You can hardly see the centre wicket areas the grounds are so big!

I would love to play a season in England on one of those shoe box grounds!

In fairness Vic you would have to hit the ball first and that's often the problem for most batters. If the ball is darting around and you get nothing to hit or even lay a bat on then it doesn't matter how short the boundaries are.

Yeah grounds in England were ridiculously small compared to this in Aus.

My home ground here is about 60-70m each side then 60m straight one end and 50m the other end.

There's one in the outer Lake District - Silverdale I think - where you can hit some ridiculous sixes - I played there once, got bounced first ball and fended it away for six!

If you play on the artificial(which we end up doing alot) one boundary isn't even saving one. You are in catching!

I love watching the modern trend of hitters up the order come out on bigger grounds and a wicket doing a bit and then watch as they flash at everything.. Nicking, middling and missing the ball.. One gets to 50 and people say 'well batted'... Really.. Really.. Still, it's even more amusing when most hole out and then blame everything but the fact they can't play properly and just want to slog

Sudbury in Suffolk is pretty small, as is Burwell CC in Cambridgeshire (especially straight on both grounds!).. Oh and Gt Totham is a postage stamp if anybody has had the privileged  to play there.

Thing is where ever you play, what ever the size of the ground, one thing is for sure, it's the same for both sides.

Not true! The ground changes size between innings.
When I bowl it's a postage stamp and there's gaps in the field everywhere.
When I bat it's a huge ground and there's no gaps in the field, feels like there's 20 fielders
