Puma Platinum 3000s
« on: September 12, 2014, 03:08:41 PM »

So, went a little crazy after learning I had passed my exam, so went and splashed out on these. It was a bit of a risk, as I was basing what I was expecting on what I had seen in my local store, which is selling these at RRP, which is £200! So I went on PDS and got 2 for that price, one light and one medium, and this is what I received...

I'm extremely impressed by these, mostly because of the lack of concaving. Very solid bats, really well finished. You stick M&H stickers on these, it would probably sell for £250, and they'd get praised for finishing their bats well! There do seem to be some pressing cracks at the toe of the lighter one, but this doesn't concern me greatly. In terms of performance, they are really exceptional, especially for the price. They're not the prettiest bats, but they have plenty of meat in the hitting area. The sound they make is a lovely mellow one, and the thing is they're not far behind my current SS LE match bat in terms of performance! Lovely bats, and they're a couple of mm longer than most SH bats, with one of them having a slightly longer handle, and the other having a slightly longer blade! The longer one is slightly heavier, at 2lb 10.9oz, and the lighter one is 2lb 9.7oz. I think most of us know who makes these. :)

Any questions, ask away! If none, go and buy away! ;)

Look good Chadders. Amazing value in today's market at £100. The chromiums are similar In shape and size as well.

Is the spine lopsided on the right one? Or is that just the camera angle

But yeah, the Puma EvoPower/Platinum is a super shape, feels big, picks up light, one of my favourite shapes in Aus stores
