Is year engraved on the shoulders?
« on: August 26, 2014, 08:08:34 PM »

As the title says does the engraving on the shoulders indicate the model year of the bat? I have two Rogue 850's both have different #'s. One has 11 and the other 12 and both have entirely different profiles. So I was wondering if they are 2011 and 2012 models.

Yes it is the year the bat was manufactured, the E stamped on the other shoulder stands for English willow

That's interesting. My kook Kahuna 400 has 12 stamped on one and A stamped on the other. Anyone know what the A might mean?

And if it is Australian willow, then I will complain to Kookaburra, because it was advertised as English Willow.

It most likely is English willow, but the 'A' probably means it is for sale in Australia

Yeah, could be that bats marked with E are for English market and A could be for the Aussie market. Recently one of my teammates got one from India. Will see what stamping it would have.

It's interesting however that a couple of bats that were bought in the US also had E.

It's interesting that on my Kahuna Players (bought it used from the UK) AZ is stamped on one of the shoulder and there is no year on the other shoulder.

As far as I am aware, the letter denotes the market in which the bat is to be distributed for sale.
It is not where the bat is made nor where the willow was grown.
The numbers are the last two digits of the year of manufacture.

Alan is correct,
The Midas - in for sale section - has A stamped on whereas other kookaburras I have, say E on the shoulder.
